Rules for using FMD Workers, booking services, paying securely, and resolving issues.
FMD Workers operates a South African domestic services marketplace that connects customers with independent service providers known as FMD Stars. The platform is designed for protected bookings, role-based administration, secure payment records, verification workflows, dispute handling, safety reporting, and POPIA-aware privacy practices.
This page is maintained through the FMD Workers admin panel. It should be reviewed by the platform owner and a qualified South African legal adviser before public launch, especially where company registration details, Information Officer details, tax treatment, insurance arrangements, dispute procedures, or payment settlement rules change.
Use of the platform
Customers must provide accurate account, address, booking, and safety information. FMD Stars must provide accurate profile, service, availability, banking, and verification information. Users may not misuse the platform, attempt to bypass payments, harass another user, submit fraudulent requests, upload harmful files, or interfere with security controls.
Bookings and service delivery
A booking is created through the platform flow and may be subject to worker availability, customer verification, payment confirmation, temporary booking holds, and admin review. FMD Workers may reject, pause, cancel, or investigate a booking if there are safety, fraud, payment, verification, or operational concerns.
Payments and commission
Payments are processed through Paystack where configured. The platform records payment references, payment statuses, commission, payout records, and audit events. Customers must not pay outside the platform for platform bookings unless FMD Workers gives written approval through an official admin channel.
Disputes and safety
Customers and FMD Stars can report disputes, unsafe locations, abuse, suspicious bookings, payment issues, or service concerns. FMD Workers may review chats, booking records, payment records, and relevant safety reports for dispute resolution and platform protection.
Independent provider model
FMD Stars are independent service providers unless a future written agreement states otherwise. The platform helps with discovery, verification, booking, communication, payment records, and operational support, but FMD Stars remain responsible for the services they agree to perform.
