How FMD Workers collects, stores, protects, and uses customer and FMD Star information.
FMD Workers operates a South African domestic services marketplace that connects customers with independent service providers known as FMD Stars. The platform is designed for protected bookings, role-based administration, secure payment records, verification workflows, dispute handling, safety reporting, and POPIA-aware privacy practices.
This page is maintained through the FMD Workers admin panel. It should be reviewed by the platform owner and a qualified South African legal adviser before public launch, especially where company registration details, Information Officer details, tax treatment, insurance arrangements, dispute procedures, or payment settlement rules change.
Information collected
FMD Workers may collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, account roles, addresses, booking details, payment references, reviews, support messages, device/session information, safety reports, documents submitted for verification, and admin audit information.
Why information is collected
Information is collected to create accounts, verify users, process bookings, check availability, support Paystack payments, prevent fraud, protect FMD Stars and customers, handle disputes, send notifications, comply with legal obligations, and improve platform reliability.
Document and sensitive data handling
Identity documents, proof of address, banking-related documents, background check consent records, and similar sensitive information are stored privately and are not shown publicly. Access is restricted by admin permissions and sensitive views should be audit logged.
Sharing and service providers
FMD Workers may share limited information with payment providers, email/SMS providers, hosting providers, support tools, verification providers, or legal/regulatory authorities where needed for service delivery, security, legal compliance, or dispute handling.
Your privacy requests
Users may request access, correction, deletion where legally allowed, account closure, or a privacy complaint review through the Data Request page or privacy contact email. Some records may need to be retained for legal, tax, safety, audit, dispute, or fraud-prevention reasons.
