Cancellation Policy
Fair cancellation rules for customers and FMD Stars, including late cancellation handling.
FMD Workers operates a South African domestic services marketplace that connects customers with independent service providers known as FMD Stars. The platform is designed for protected bookings, role-based administration, secure payment records, verification workflows, dispute handling, safety reporting, and POPIA-aware privacy practices.
This page is maintained through the FMD Workers admin panel. It should be reviewed by the platform owner and a qualified South African legal adviser before public launch, especially where company registration details, Information Officer details, tax treatment, insurance arrangements, dispute procedures, or payment settlement rules change.
Customer cancellations
Customers should cancel as early as possible. Cancellation outcomes may depend on timing, whether an FMD Star has accepted, whether travel has started, whether work has begun, and whether the booking is high-risk or recurring.
FMD Star cancellations
FMD Stars should not accept jobs they cannot complete. Repeated cancellation, late cancellation, or no-show behaviour may affect approval status, visibility, job offers, payout review, or admin action.
Platform cancellations
FMD Workers may cancel or pause bookings for safety concerns, failed verification, payment problems, no available worker, duplicate bookings, suspicious activity, unsafe locations, or admin review.
Waiting list and rescheduling
If no verified FMD Star is available, customers should be offered another time, another area, waiting list request, or admin assistance rather than being pushed blindly into payment.
